Network drive external access
Access to the network drives from computers that are not in the DNPW (e.g. from a private computer at home or from a laptop during a business trip) requires the following:
VPN client
By means of a VPN connection, an encrypted connection can be established from the GoeMobile or Eduroam wireless networks, from a wired network within GöNet or from a third-party network (DSL, ISDN, modem, GSM, etc.). This makes it possible to connect a device from one's own network to a neighboring network without the two networks having to be compatible with each other. The GWDG website provides detailed information about the setup.

Personal network drive (P:\)
➢ Start Windows Explorer
➢ Click on Network with the right mouse button.
➢ Select Connect network drive...
Now enter the following data:
➢ Drive: P:
➢ Folder:\winfs-uni.top.gwdg.de\USERNAME$
(Username corresponds to the login name at the GWDG, followed by the character "$").
➢ Establish connection under other user name mark
➢ Enter user name and password, corresponding to your personal
user name (gwdg\USERNAME) and password.
After clicking on Finish, the drive "P:" should now appear in the "My Computer"
Department Network Drives
➢ Start Windows Explorer
➢ Click on Network with the right mouse button.
➢ Select Connect network drive...
Now enter the following data (xx corresponds to the department, e.g. AT for agricultural engineering):
➢ Drive: L:
➢ Folder:\wfs-agrar.top.gwdg.de\uanp-all$\dnpw-xx\xchange-xx-lab or.
➢ Drive:X:
➢ Folder:\\wfs-agrar.top.gwdg.de\uanp-all$\dnpw-xx\xchange-xx
➢ Mark connect under different user name.
➢ Enter user name and password, according to your personal
user name (gwdg\USERNAME) and password on the server.
➢ After clicking Finish, the respective drive should now appear in "My Computer"
Addition:
For some departments, such as "PBZ", there are subgroups, for example "Grassland":
