Welcome to the International Writing Lab!

Welcome to the International Writing Lab!

Whether it’s a report or a master’s thesis – writing is essential for academic success. At the International Writing Lab, we support students from all faculties in developing their academic and professional writing skills. This includes a critical look at AI, especially text-generating tools.

News

This handout (for English version, scroll to page 4 in handout) provides answers to frequently asked questions about academic writing and text-generating AI, such as ChatGPT. You can also explore further information through the additional links provided on the handout.
Starting October 28, you can drop by the Writing Lab offices (Heinrich-Düker-Weg 12, ground floor) every Tuesday between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. – no appointment needed. As usual, you can also make individual appointments via e-mail . Directions to our offices can be found here.

As part of the InDiGUplus project, the International Writing Lab offers classes designed to support international students in their studies and career development. Find out more about InDiGUplus here.
In recent semesters, the International Writing Lab has faced significant funding cuts. As a result, some workshops can no longer take place, and events such as the Long Night of Procrastinated Papers have had to be cancelled. In addition, fewer spots are available for writing consultations, which may lead to waiting times when scheduling appointments.

The International Writing Lab Offers

In our writing consultations, you’ll have space to discuss your individual questions and challenges. Together with a consultant, you’ll develop strategies tailored to your writing project and workflow.
