Contact people at the facultyWho can advise me at my faculty?
How long is an Erasmus+ study visit?
- Bachelor, Master, PhD (enrolled students): 2-12 months per study period (please note mobility options in Gö Abroad )
What documents do I need to fill out?
- The application is made online via the mobility portal.
- You can find documents & checklists under programme documents.
Where can I find experience reports from other Erasmus+ participants?
Is it possible to do an exchange in a subject outside my own study subject?
Since Erasmus+ is based on subject-specific agreements, exchanges in other subjects are not possible. Students in a 2-subject Bachelor programme should select an exchange opportunity in one of their two subjects.
Do I apply separately for the Erasmus+ financial support?
- No, the Erasmus+ application at the University of Göttingen includes an application for programme participation, tuition-free study placement and financial support. The financial support will be awarded according to the funding procedure mentioned in the respective call for applications.
When and from whom will I find out whether I can receive financial support?
- The International Office of Göttingen informs the Erasmus+ departmental coordinators of the outcome in June (year of application) at the latest. In addition, the International Office informs the students during the preparatory informational events. Funding is dependent on ranking position and availability of funds.
How much is the financial support?
- You can find information here under the heading "Funding & Open Calls".
What should I consider when choosing a course?
- At least 50% of the credits should be taken in the subject of the exchange agreement. In addition, 50% of the courses should be taken in the language of instruction for which the required language certificate has been obtained.
- The courses agreed upon in the Learning Agreement or revised Learning Agreement must be listed on the Transcript of Records.
What is a Learning Agreement, and why do I need it?
- The Learning Agreement is a mandatory document for an Erasmus+ stay. To be a valid document, it must be signed by the student, the departmental coordinator or another authorised person and the partner institution. The document is part of the funding agreement and must be submitted to the International Office of Göttingen before the start of the academic stay. Contact the host institution early on to clarify the content and to meet the deadlines of the partner institution.
- If you want to study at a partner university for a full academic year, you should record courses for all planned semesters in the Learning Agreement. If this is not possible, you must create a new Learning Agreement before the start of the second semester.
- The Transcript of Records issued by the partner university at the end of the stay must correspond to the Learning Agreement(s).
Which countries are part of the Erasmus+ Programme?
- The Erasmus+ KA 131 education programme is based on subject-specific agreements between a faculty/institute of the University of Göttingen and an Erasmus+ partner university abroad. Thus, the question of which partner universities your faculty cooperates with takes precedence over the question of the destination country. An overview can be found in Gö abroad - The database for international mobility.
