Anna-Lena Klapp


Anna-Lena Klapp is a Public Health Nutritionist and external PhD candidate at the University of Göttingen. She serves as Head of Research at ProVeg International, a food awareness organization dedicated to transforming the global food system. ProVeg has been recognized with the United Nations' Momentum for Change Award and collaborates closely with key UN food and environmental agencies.

At the University of Göttingen, Anna-Lena is a part of the junior research group WeAreOne, which investigates the prospects of the Anthropocene in diverse global environments. Within the Nachhaltige Ernährungsstile (NES) project, she conducted a large-scale international comparison of national FBDGs, analyzing how they address the broad spectrum of plant-based diets and how country-specific characteristics can influence their recommendations. For this work, she received both the Alpro Foundation Award 2023 for excellence in plant-based nutrition research and the EGEA Conference 2023 Award for best scientific poster.

Beyond her research, Anna-Lena contributes to the educational academy of the German Food Bank Association (Bildungsakademie der Tafel Deutschland), supporting nutritional literacy among food bank users. She has also taught Sustainable Nutrition as a university lecturer at Fulda University of Applied Sciences.
