  • Information extraction of environmental metrics with LLMs and Vision Language Models

  • Human-in-the-loop systems and data quality for ESG data

Doctoral Research

In my cumulative dissertation I study how environmental metrics can be
(semi-)automatically extracted from sustainability reports with Large Language
Models and, above all, how the resulting data become auditable, trustworthy
and reusable
. The thread runs from structuring the research field, via
LLM- and Vision-Language-Model-based extraction, to human-in-the-loop systems that
support researchers and practitioners in validating and using the data. A central
insight: the bottleneck is not the model alone, but validation, traceability and
integration.

Red thread of the dissertation: characterise field, extraction with LLM/VLM, human-in-the-loop, auditable data
