SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

A merely small and common part of our daily life, like the social interaction of two humans, contains so much complexity and involves so many reactions - it's amazing. I want to go through neuroscience step by step from its molecular basics, across neural interaction, development, neurogenesis and investigational approaches, to applied techniques and the understanding of the generation, processing and storage of information. In this way, I hope to finally understand or at least be able to contribute to the understanding of basic functions of neural networks like the brain. Using this knowledge, I want to contribute to the development of effective and useful applications like novel approaches in the curing of neuronal diseases or technical interactions with neuronal circuits, which may somehow improve our life.
