The application for our master's programmes is made via the Faculty of Business and Economics. The standard period of study for all master's programmes is four semesters (2 years). You can usually apply for our Master’s programmes in both the winter and summer semesters. The exceptions are the Master’s programmes in Applied Statistics, Development Economics and Management. For these programmes, applications can only be submitted for the winter semester. You can find detailed information on the application periods for our Master’s programmes here. The prerequisite for an application is a bachelor's degree of at least six semesters in a relevant subject with at least 180 credits. At least 150 of the 180 credits must be proven at the time of application. In addition, you must demonstrate knowledge in specific fields (like for example business, economics, mathematics or statistics) by successfully completing corresponding modules. This is usually the case if, after your bachelor's degree, you decide to enrol in a consecutive master's programme in your subject area, meaning one that already builds on a bachelor's programme. Detailed information on the master's programmes of the faculty as well as on the application and selection process can be found on the respective programme pages (see the drop-down menu below). The following Master’s programmes are taught in English. As an interdisciplinary subject, it brings together economics and business administration, history as well as social and political sciences. The economic history specialisation focuses on global history, corporate history and consumer history. The programme is open to anyone with a Bachelor's degree in economic and social history, modern and contemporary history, economics, business administration, sociology, political science or a related subject. The master's programme is designed in such a way that students with bachelor's degrees in a wide range of subjects can also complete it: from business administration and economics to psychology and forestry. Hands-on experience plays a major role in the degree programme. You will not only learn the methodology, but also how to practically implement the analysis of complex data in software packages such as R and ultimately prepare and present it in a generally understandable way. Furthermore, you can complete the internship, the project seminar and the final thesis together with a business partner.
