Lab Experience

Experimental techniques: Western blotting, immunoblotting, yeast and human cell culture, confocal microscopy, cell viability assays, cycloheximide chases for inhibition of protein synthesis. Basic experience with PCR, cloning, transfections and transformations, and protein expression and purification.
Analytical tools: Image J and Graphpad Prism. Basic experience with PyMol and Python.

    SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

    How is cognition possible? How can it be restored when it falters? Can its deterioration in neurodegenerative diseases be prevented or remedied? These questions drive my pursuit to understand the brain's intricacies and help mitigate the impact of these debilitating conditions. The complexity of neurodegenerative disorders requires an interdisciplinary approach. I aim to integrate my understanding of cell and molecular biology, acquired during my Biomedical Sciences Bachelor's degree, with insights from neuroscience and computational techniques, acquired during my postgraduate studies (MSc/PhD). Ultimately, I seek to understand these diseases and translate the insights into clinical applications, contributing to the development of effective therapies.
